The Twin River Guard

Training Schedules & Venues

Sundays

Sunday Afternoons are our main Training Sessions.

From 11:00AM till around 2:00PM we don our armour, take up our weapons and practice historical combat techniques in a most respectful and safe environment. For the non combatants we have a variety of crafts including sewing (garments), beading, cooking and the most noble art of archery.

There is always something to do, and something to keep everyone interested in a warm and friendly environment of like minded people. Children are most welcome as we are a family friendly group.

From swords and shields, spears and axes, archery and javelin throwing; we can train you in a great variety of martial disciplines, all of which are based on historical evidence on how they were used, and why.

Midweek Training

Wednesday Evenings between 5:30pm and 7:30pm, offer a more relaxed and less aggressive session which pay heed to the more docile persuits of re-enactment.

Often this is the time when we focus on costuming and crafting and engage in casual historical research and discussions.

Never the less, these training sessions are just as fun and exciting, and are also times to engage in Medieval sports, games and dancing.
