Arming Cap
Condition: New Price: $xx ea Description: These Arming caps were originally white material with a pink padding which gave then a decidedly pink look. Bearded Axe
Condition: Used - light rust Price: $35 Description: The Bearded axe was a favourite weapon of the Vikings and is well known from the aggressive use of it as the weapon of choice throughout the Viking Migration Period and through the 6th - 10th Centuries. The bearded axe comes in many shapes and sizes and can be distinguished by the beard at the base of the axe head. The beard extends the length of cutting edge of the axe while keeping the added weight of the axe head contained within the length of the handle making it a well balanced weapon. It is also an excellent tool for pulling an opponents shield down, rendering it an encumbrance in battle and allowing an opening for a killing blow. Additional Images:
Battle Axe
Condition: Used - light rust Price: $30 Description: Axes have been around since the dawn of time and have changed little in actual design since the first hunter walked the earth. When peasants were called to arms they often used common tools such as axes and farming implements as they often did not have the funds to buy decent weapons, nor the training or skill to use them. This design is commonly used throughout the 13th - 16th Centuries. Additional Images:
Long handled/ Two Handed Axe
Condition: Used - light rust Price: $30 Description: Axes have been around since the dawn of time and have changed little in actual design since the first hunter walked the earth. When peasants were called to arms they often used common tools such as axes and farming implements as they often did not have the funds to buy decent weapons, nor the training or skill to use them. This design is commonly used throughout the 13th - 16th Centuries. This two handed axe is somewhat similar in design to the (previous) battleaxe but with a longer pole and can be used as either a single handed or double handed weapon. This particular axe is 970mm in length, with an axe head face length of 185mm Additional Images:
Poleaxe
Condition: Used - light rust Price: $35 Description: The Poleaxe came into being as a means of unhorsing riders in battle during the late 14th Century. This particular poleaxe measures 1600mm (5' 3") in length, and has a axe head face length of 180mm Additional Images:
Thrusting Spear - Long
Condition: Used - light surface rust Price: $35 Description: Measuring 7' 5" (2260mm) in length, this spear is a typical example of a thrusting spear used throughout many ages in history all over the world. This is a great weapon for keeping enemies at distance where the archers could pick them of! The spear head itself measures almost 19" (475mm) in length and almost 3" (70mm) in width and is extremely solid. Additional Images:
Bowstring Nocking Points
Condition: New Price: $2 ea (Including a $1 donation) Description: While these nocking points aren't strictly speaking authentic, they are small enough not to be noticed by the less discerning spectators, and I have it on good authority they are all the rage at the castle! They are non-the-less ideal for assisting archers to draw consistently especially as we have no arrow rests or other device to assist us with our aim. $1 of the sale price will be added to the donation tin. Additional Images:
